Quickslants coming out super early this week due to a couple of shows on tonight!

Tuesday July 12th:

Quebec Redneck Bluegrass Project @ Hot Cat Club
They’re from Quebec, they live in Kunming and they have a mandolin playing cow.
Well at least they did when they played @ 2Kolegas at Chinese New Year. If you wanna laugh hard, dance like crazy and hear some Quebecios / Kunminghua bluegrass Hot Cat is the place to be!

Rush Hour @ Gulou 121
Chunqiu guitarist Kaiser Kuo brings together a couple of friends to put on a tribute to Canadian rock legends Rush.

Thursday July 14th:

Mamer & IZ: CD Release @ Yugong Yishan
Xinjiang/Kazakh folk tunes from the grasslands from one of China’s most inspirational musicians.

Friday July 15th:

Big Mic Records: I Love Movies! @ Mao
Mao brings together 6 rock, punk and metal bands to bring you a night of movie theme magic. One highlight of the line up is Residence A, recently back from a tour of China with a new record due to be released (songs are up on their douban)

SKA night @ 2 Kolegas
Skarving and The Rudeness, two of the best ska bands in the city on the same line-up! Also Toy Head makes up the ska trio.

Saturday July 16th:

Pangbianr Experimental night @ Hot Cat
It’s not my scene, but if you like your experimental noise, heading into the Hutongs tonight as Pangbianr team bring together some of the best bands.

Yaksa EP launch @ Mao
Dreadlocked metal legends Yaska launch their new EP.

And if you can’t decide who to see when, Mamer, Skarving & Residence A will all be playing shows on Saturday as well!
