japanese post rockers saisa on tour

local label 1724 records is known for supporting post rock bands from all over the country, but their newest recruits, japan’s saisa, are from outside the middle kingdom and you can catch them on their first overseas tour this saturday at yugong yishan.

japan is no stranger to the post rock genre, with two of it’s bands, mono and toe, being amongst the world’s best. saisa formed in 2009 and released their first ep last year. their music is atmospherical post rock at it’s best, compromising guitars, strings, high vocals and samples to credit a sound that represents the emotions of japanese youth. they’ve been compared this will destroy you, who toured china recently.
