Star Max Music Festival kicks off tonight in Beijing

By Beijing Daze in Tunes under the moon

So, Star Max kicks off today in Beijing’s Ditan Park, close to the Lama temple. I wish I could be more excited about it today but I’m victim of festival overload. The organizers are basically recycling the same lineups/acts every couple of months and just throwing it out again.

By Beijing Daze in Tunes under the moon

In December 2009, Xie Tian Xiao 谢天笑 who is often referred to as China’s King of Live threw a curve ball at the music business by straying away from his grunge/hard rock roots and releasing a Reggae album: 古筝雷鬼 (chinese zither reggae volume 1).

Beijing MIDI Day 2 Review and Musings

By Beijing Daze in Tunes under the moon, blabbers

Saturday ended up being a busy day! After a trip to Nanluoguxiang where I spent most of the afternoon soaking up what will turn out to be one of the last great days to be outside before winter hits (that’s a mouthful), I jumped up on a 40mn cab ride to 798 for MIDI.
