If you’re gonna be Drinking Alone, might as well do it with Black Cat Bone Song ( No longer Available)

Thanks to Jaime Welton and Black Cat Bone for “Drinking Alone”.. it was downloaded 152 times in April and 185 times in may as of yesterday before I removed it!!! Strangely enough, this one was mostly downloaded from outside China with about 130 downloads in France & Germany alone.

Continuing the series of straight-from-beijing songs to celebrate BeijingDaze’s first year anniversary, I reached out to one my favorite acts in town, one that never fails to disappoint, one at which my liver shrivels everytime their name comes up! The bad ass crew of Beijing’s one and only original Blues band: Black Cat Bone!

I’ve had the chance to speak to/interview both Jon Campbell and Jaime Welton for this site and they’ve been great to me! Jon‘s knowledge of the Beijing music scene is second to none while Jaime is the madman of 2 kolegas !
Des in next on my list of interviews to get but i’m still trying to find an angle to approach him without finding my name on a song… he did write “drinking alone” about you know, being left alone!
Toby is one bad ass bass player, just as ease with blues as he is with Metal…. got some scary shots of him :)

Anyways, enough blabbering! Grab the song below, it is called “Drinking Alone” from their album of the same name and one of my favorite tracks of theirs.

You can also show your support to the band and download their record from Wa3, the exclusive online purveyor of their music in China:

Previous downloads: Legend – ChunQiu (Spring Autumn) and Mini EP -Mademoiselle

huge thanks to the band for giving me the ok to do this! you should do yourself a favor and get their CD at their next show! It’s definitely worth the 30RMB you might spend on it and it will last you a lot longer than that Jack n Coke.
