It’s May.. festival season baby! After the onslaught of MIDI and Strawberry, now we’re getting ready for the next batch including the CD Blues Festival. Unlike previous years where this was held over a day or two, Big John has gone with a completely different formula: Have special gigs every weekend of May.
I’m kinda of looking at this going: WTF makes this a blues festival instead of 4 weekends of somewhat decent gigs?: hum.. well, if you know the answer, enlighten me. Either ways, it’s kicking off tonight and since someone asked me for the lineup, here is it in pixels.

Lock your daughters or lock the band: them rowdy Americana boys, The Randy Abel Stable, are descending on Ritan Park and it might never be the same again… I’d love to see their after party at Chocolate On the bill that night is also Shun Kikuta, a Japanese blues veteran who brings his classically trained, soul-filled guitar work to Beijing.
Saturday, May 11
Dafei and The Skyscraper who you can see making the rounds will be on hand to kick things off that weekend. Taste f Soul, a relatively new addition to the scene follows things up.
