Beijing Weekend Quickslants: Books, Geeks, Kazaks and Spring Autumn all on board
Last weekend was absolute heaven music wise in Beijing with a wide array of great shows each and every evening. This weekend pales in comparison but it should be a good opportunity to get out there and try something new.
Friday April 2:
Da Bizi @ Tiny Salt: French rap hip/hop with some Chinese characteristics… whatever that means, it sounds intriguing to me and there is a big chance I might swing by this one and check out Tiny Salt at the same time
Mamer & Friends @ Mako: Kazak musician Mamer brings a different vibe to Shuanjing…would be also cool to check this out for cultural curiosity reasons.. and any chance to check out that huge statue of Optimus Prime at Mako is a good one.
Saturday April 3:
April Book swap and Board Games @ Sequoia (ritan park): It’s time again for this monthly event. A great opportunity to chill with like-minded folks, play board games, shoot the shit and just have fun. Oh, we do have books to swap as well.
Chun Qiu (Spring Autumn) @ Jianghu: Kaiser Kuo and company unplugged, showcasing their musicality and guitar prowess. Last time it was jam packed and fun despite the cruel winter. I expect this to be no different!
My Generation is not too Bad @ Yugong Yishan: Sulumi, Brain Failures, Bigger Bang!, Re-TROS, DH & Chinese Hellcats, New Pants mix fashion and music for a jam packed night of fun at Yugong Yishan. Might head here myself after i’m done with the ChunQiu gig!
Sunday April 4
Nirvana memorial @ Mao: a whole bunch of local bands come together to celebrate and mourn the late Kurt Cobain
