Die From Sorrow wins Wacken Slot to represent China
This one kinda went under the radar but over the past few weeks, a competition was held in Beijing amongst Metal bands to see which one would win the right to represent China at Wacken, arguably the biggest metal festival in the world. The battle, sponsored by the good folks at PainKiller Mag took place at Mao Live and 13 Club.
Die From Sorrow (郁乐队) emerged from the shredding, moshing and headbanging affair as the ultimate winner with their brand of so-called “melodic death Metal”… I’ve never had the pleasure of watching the band live but I look forward to catching them sometime soon and wish them the best of luck in Germany.
Now that I remember, I gotta add a new to-do to my list: Attend Wacken Festival.
